These Terms apply to the FirstAmen iOS app and related support pages provided by FirstAmen ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using FirstAmen, you agree to these Terms.
The service
FirstAmen helps you schedule a morning alarm and complete a prayer or scripture-reading activity. You are responsible for choosing appropriate alarm settings, keeping your device powered and configured correctly, and maintaining another alarm when missing one could cause harm or loss.
FirstAmen is a devotional and habit-support tool. It does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, or other professional advice.
License
Your license is governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms supplement that agreement. If they conflict, Apple's agreement controls to the extent required for App Store use.
Seven-day trial
Eligible customers may receive a seven-day introductory free trial when starting a monthly or annual subscription through Apple. The App Store purchase sheet shows the trial, renewal price, and billing period before confirmation. Unless canceled in Apple Account settings, the selected subscription automatically renews at the displayed price when the trial ends. The lifetime purchase has no trial and does not renew.
Purchases
FirstAmen may offer a monthly auto-renewing subscription, an annual auto-renewing subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase. The App Store shows the price and currency for your storefront before confirmation. Payment is charged to your Apple Account.
Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled through your Apple Account at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends. Apple manages billing, renewal, cancellation, and eligible refunds. Deleting FirstAmen does not cancel a subscription.
The lifetime option is a non-consumable purchase that provides access to the then-current FirstAmen app for as long as we make it available and support the applicable platform. It is tied to the Apple Account used to purchase it. It does not guarantee that every future product, separate app, external service, or feature with ongoing third-party costs will be included.
Availability and alarms
We work to keep FirstAmen reliable, but we do not guarantee that an alarm, notification, speech-recognition session, or other feature will always operate without interruption or error. Features may be affected by device settings, permissions, volume, power state, operating-system behavior, network availability, downloaded speech assets, or third-party services.
Your content
You retain ownership of prayers, reflections, scripture passages, feedback, and other content you create. You are responsible for having the right to use that content and for keeping your own backup if it is important. Local data may be lost if you reset the app, delete it, lose the device, or experience a device failure.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse FirstAmen, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer it except where applicable law permits, or use it in a way that violates law or another person's rights.
External services and community
FirstAmen may link to services operated by others, including Apple, Google, Singular, Cloudflare, and Facebook. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use their services.
Participation in the FirstAmen Facebook Group requires a Facebook account. Feedback posted there may be visible to other members or the public. Community posts must be respectful and lawful. We may moderate the group, but cannot guarantee that every post is accurate, appropriate, or continuously available.
Intellectual property
FirstAmen, its design, software, branding, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable law. Scripture quotations identified as World English Bible are public-domain text.
Termination
You may stop using FirstAmen at any time. We may suspend access to services we operate if you materially violate these Terms or if necessary to protect users, the service, or legal compliance.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FirstAmen is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or losses caused by a missed alarm, unavailable feature, device failure, or third-party service. Nothing here excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Changes
We may update FirstAmen and these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice as reasonably required. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
