FirstAmen ("we," "us," or "our") provides the FirstAmen iOS app and this website. This policy explains how information is handled when you use them.
Information stored on your device
FirstAmen stores the information needed to provide its features locally on your device. This may include:
- your name, if you choose to enter it;
- alarm times, repeat days, sounds, and prayer or scripture selections;
- custom prayers and scripture passages you add;
- bookmarks, reflections, completed sessions, streaks, and prayer duration;
- onboarding status and app preferences; and
- identifiers needed to keep scheduled alarms working.
FirstAmen does not currently require an account and does not upload this content to a server operated by us.
Microphone and speech recognition
FirstAmen requests microphone and speech-recognition access when you choose to read a prayer or scripture passage aloud. The app uses the resulting transcription to follow your reading progress and determine when the reading is complete.
Speech recognition uses Apple's system frameworks. FirstAmen prefers on-device recognition when available. If an on-device model is unavailable, iOS may use Apple's speech-recognition service. FirstAmen does not store your microphone audio or completed transcript after the reading session ends and does not send them to a server operated by us.
Camera and scanned text
If you choose to scan a printed Bible page, FirstAmen requests camera access and uses Apple's on-device text-recognition framework. FirstAmen does not upload or retain the image. Text you choose to save as a custom verse remains on your device.
Alarms and notifications
FirstAmen uses Apple's AlarmKit and notification services to schedule and present alarms and related reminders. Alarm schedules and identifiers are stored on your device and shared with iOS system services only as needed to provide these features.
Purchases and trial offers
Monthly and annual subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store payment-card details. The app reads product and transaction status to provide access, restore purchases, and respond to expiration or revocation.
Eligible monthly or annual subscribers may receive a seven-day introductory free trial through Apple. Apple confirms the offer, requires purchase authorization, and automatically renews the selected subscription at the displayed price when the trial ends unless it is canceled in Apple Account settings. The lifetime purchase has no trial and does not renew.
Analytics, diagnostics, and advertising attribution
FirstAmen uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand whether core flows work, Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes, and Singular to measure installs and selected conversion events from advertising campaigns.
These services may process an app-instance or device identifier, app and device information, country or region, app interactions, session information, diagnostic data, crash information, and purchase plan, price, and currency. Singular receives only selected marketing events, such as starting a trial, the first alarm created, the first completed prayer flow, and a completed purchase.
FirstAmen does not set a Firebase user ID. Onboarding analytics record only the page reached, not the answer selected. Prayer-frequency analytics use broad groups such as zero, one-to-six, or seven-plus.
Version 1 does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and is configured not to access Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). Singular may use Apple-supported aggregated attribution technologies and limited device or campaign information to measure advertising results. We do not sell personal information.

Website delivery
This website is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request metadata, and security logs to deliver and protect the site under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Community support
The FirstAmen Support link opens the FirstAmen Facebook Group. A Facebook account is required to join or participate. Posts and profile information may be visible to others according to the group's settings and are handled by Meta under its terms and privacy policy. Do not post private prayer content or sensitive personal information you do not want other members to see.
Data retention and deletion
You can remove locally stored FirstAmen data with Settings → Reset App Data, or by deleting the app. This does not cancel a subscription or erase App Store purchase history.
FirstAmen has no developer-hosted account or cloud profile to delete in the current version. Because analytics identifiers are not connected to an account or email address, we may not be able to identify a particular analytics record as yours. Facebook Group activity is managed through Facebook.
Children's privacy
FirstAmen is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated account or service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, our practices, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
